General Terms & Conditions

These general terms and conditions govern your use of the GGI website and every service offered through it. Specific terms may apply to individual programmes, events, or products, in which case those specific terms take precedence over these general terms for that service.

2.1An account allows you to manage your personal details, communication preferences, memberships, donations, orders, and event registrations in one place.

2.2You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity carried out through your account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation.

2.3You may close your account at any time. Where we are required by law or by an existing contract to retain certain records, such as donation receipts or order history, we will keep those records for the applicable retention period.

3.1If you register an account, you will receive service messages relating to the following:

• account notifications such as password changes and consent requests
• confirmation of donations, memberships, and shop orders
• registration details for events and programmes you have joined
• important updates to these terms or to our privacy policy

3.2You may opt in to receive additional communications about our newsletter, campaign appeals, volunteer opportunities, and impact reports.

3.3You can adjust your communication preferences at any time from your account, or by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Withdrawing consent for service messages under article 3.1 is not possible while your account remains open.

4.1Donations are voluntary contributions to our programmes and are, unless expressly stated otherwise, non-refundable once processed.

4.2Recurring donations and memberships renew automatically at the interval you selected until you cancel them. You may cancel a recurring contribution at any time from your account, and the cancellation takes effect from the next scheduled payment.

4.3Where you have restricted a donation to a specific programme, we will apply it to that programme. If that programme is fully funded or discontinued, we may reallocate the contribution to a comparable initiative.

5.1A purchase is concluded once we confirm your order. Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

5.2Delivery times are indicative. We are not liable for delays caused by couriers, customs, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

5.3Returns and exchanges are handled in line with the return policy published on the product page at the time of purchase.

6.1Registration for an event is personal and may not be resold or transferred without our written consent.

6.2We may change the date, venue, format, or programme of an event. Where an event is cancelled outright, we will inform registered participants and set out the options available to them.

6.3Participants must follow the safety instructions and site rules given by our staff and partners, particularly during tree planting, school greening, and other field activities.

6.4Registration for and attendance at a GGI event are also governed by the GGI Event Terms & Conditions. Where the two differ, the Event Terms & Conditions prevail for that event.

You agree not to misuse the platform. This includes submitting unlawful, misleading, or harmful content, attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems, disrupting the service for others, or extracting data by automated means without our written permission. We may suspend or close accounts that breach this article.

8.1All content on this website, including text, photographs, video, graphics, and the GGI name and logo, is owned by GGI or its licensors and may not be reproduced without permission, save for ordinary personal or educational use with attribution.

8.2Where you submit content to us, such as project photographs or testimonials, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use that content in our communications and reporting.

9.1We take reasonable care to keep the information on this website accurate and the service available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error free.

9.2Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence and for fraud.

By using our services you acknowledge that your personal data is processed in accordance with our privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.

We may update these terms as our services or legal obligations change. Material changes will be communicated to account holders, and the date shown on this page identifies the current version.

12.1These general terms and conditions are exclusively governed by and will be interpreted in accordance with the laws of Kenya, with the exclusion of the rules on conflict of laws.

12.2Any disputes will be exclusively referred to the competent courts of Nairobi, Kenya.

12.3If any provision of these terms, or any part of it, is or is declared invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full force and the invalid provision is replaced by a valid provision that corresponds as closely as possible to its purport.
