Roots that run deep.
Founded by Elizabeth Wathuti, O.G.W, a global multi-award-winning climate champion and environmentalist, the Green Generation Initiative emerged from a deep-rooted passion for conservation.
Her founding passion was both bitter and sweet, driven by her deep desire to restore the rapidly degrading environment she had grown up seeing in her village, and her inspiration by Prof. Wangari Maathai, who was the Member of Parliament in her home region and whom she aspired to meet.
Today, GGI stands as one of the fastest-growing youth-led, climate-focused organizations in Africa, driving change in climate policy, biodiversity restoration, climate action, youth movement building, and solutions across Kenya, Africa, and to global audiences.
