We empower grassroots communities to strengthen their climate resilience by integrating sustainable practices into their livelihoods and production systems while generating income through social enterprises. Our focus areas are agro-forestry, seedling production, and fruit orchards, aim to enhance food security, promote environmental stewardship, and drive local economic development.
GGI’s community resilience initiatives focus on creating a lasting impact to grassroots communities, particularly farmers, by ensuring they achieve a triple bottom-line impact of Planet, People, and Profit. To enhance resilience, we promote sustainable regenerative practices into production systems, while expanding communities income streams through social enterprising and enhancing livelihoods.

Our Impact:
Through collaborations with other partners, we have;
- Distributed 1.33 million fruit trees which are generating $67 million annually for local communities in avocado and macadamia sales.
- Created of 17,400 green jobs, contributing $7.8 million in annual income to local youth and women.
- 142,849 farmers receiving climate-smart extension and advisory messages through the SMS platform.
- 149,885M of grass strips established on 51,550M terraces on farmers lands reducing soil erosion and boosting farms milk production in napier production.
- 8KM of riparian lands restored
