Our Mission
Committed to raising a prosperous, socially and environmentally responsible generation of children, youth, women and communities empowering them with nature-based solutions, green innovations, investments and policies that drive a sustainable future.

Our Green History
Founded by Elizabeth Wathuti, O.G.W, a global multi-award-winning climate champion and environmentalist, the Green Generation Initiative emerged from Liz’s deep-rooted passion for conservation. Her founding passion was bitter-sweet both driven by her deep desire to restore the rapidly degrading environment she had growing up seeing in her village and her inspiration by Prof. Wangari Maathai who was the Member of Parliament in her home region whom she aspired to meet.
Today, GGI stands as a testament to her vision, one of the fastest-growing youth-led, climate-focused organizations and brand in Africa driving change in climate policy, bio-diversity restoration, climate action, youth movement building and solutions in Kenya, Africa and to global audiences.
Our goal
Our goal is to be a leading greening organization and brand in Africa drives environmental consciousness, solutions and investments across all aspects of life, including production systems, communities, growth pathways, policies, and everyday activities, making sustainable practices a natural part of all sectors and activities.
We strive to inspire a fundamental mindset shift, helping individuals, communities, organizations and multi-lateral frameworks see how their actions connect with the environment. By raising awareness, influencing decisions, driving investments and innovation we aim to create a ripple effect that touches every facet of society from education, business, policy-making, and cultural norms, driving collective action and progress toward a healthier, more sustainable planet with a prosperous people.

WITH COLLABORATIONS, IMPACT HAPPENS
Our projects are designed to achieve a Triple Bottom Line impact of People, Planet, and Prosperity, the essence of sustainable development.
“ We believe that, only by creating a generation of environmentally conscious individuals, will we cultivate the ambassadors needed to champion sustainability across society.”
